Home 3L Diamond is for application developers who use DSPs, FPGAs and GPPs to create multiprocessor systems. Expressly created for multiprocessor systems it is a tool-suite and model that provides a highly automated development flow from concept through to applications running in multiprocessor hardware. Unlike traditional design tools that are resource hungry and designed for single processors only, 3L Diamond simplifies the development of multiprocessor systems to improve productivity, and reduce risk and time-to-market. http://www.3l.com/component/content/frontpage Wed, 08 Sep 2010 10:52:50 +0000 Joomla! 1.5 - Open Source Content Management en-gb Diamond supports the EVP6472 multicore evaluation board from Texas Instruments http://www.3l.com/news/latest-news/225-diamond-supports-the-evp6472-multicore-evaluation-board-from-texas-instruments News3EDINBURGH, UK - 16 December 2009 - The 3L Diamond tool suite now supports the EVP6472 multicore evaluation board from Texas Instruments.

3L joins Texas Instruments Developer Network http://www.3l.com/news/latest-news/222-3l-joins-ti-developers-network News43L joins the Texas Instruments Developer Network to provide multiprocessor design solution

3L provides its diamond multiprocessor tool suite and integrated TCP/IP stack to designers using TI DSPs and brings multi-processing systems to market faster and at lower cost

EDINBURGH, UK - 20 MAY 2009 - 3L, the Multiprocessor Design Company, announced today that it has joined the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) Developer Network as a provider of multiprocessor design solutions.  The announcement strengthens 3L's multiprocessor design flow targeting TI digital signal processors (DSPs) and offers tighter integration between 3L's Diamond multiprocessor tool suite and the TI portfolio of DSPs as well as Code Composer StudioTM (CCStudio) integrated development environment (IDE).

With more designers choosing TI DSP for multi-processor systems development, 3L's Diamond tool-suite allows designers to accelerate the creation of multiprocessor applications through highly targeted design automation coupled with a powerful model that simplifies the description of efficient multi-processor systems.  ]]> frontpage Wed, 20 May 2009 12:01:10 +0000 Multiprocessing TCP/IP Inside 3L Diamond http://www.3l.com/news/latest-news/219-multiprocessing-tcpip-inside-3l-diamond Integrated into the 3L Diamond Multiprocessor Tool-Suite, 3L and DFCDesign Announce 'Diamond Enabled' TCP/IP Stack Optimized for Gigabit Performance and Multiprocessing Systems.

EDINBURGH, UK - 10 March 2009 - 3L, the Multiprocessor Design Company and DFCDesign, a specialist provider of custom embedded systems and IP, today announced the integration of Diamond TCP, a full function, high performance TCP/IP networking stack into the 3L Diamond multiprocessor tool-suite.

Optimized for multiprocessing and Gigabit Ethernet the stack supports the low level TCP, UDP, IP, IGMP, ICMP and ARP stack protocols.  Diamond TCP provides multiprocessor designers with a high-performance stack that delivers the high data rates required in processor intensive applications such as high-end video and imaging, wireless base stations and networking.

To drive network connectivity, the stack's on-chip EMAC (Ethernet Media Access Control) provides the Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet interface.  The protocol overhead is light touch at 10% and stack configuration and deployment is seamless through its integration into the Diamond IDE and tight interoperability with TI's Code Composer Studio.

The application targets the Sundance SMT8121 system.

The Sundance SMT8121 is a development kit for multi-carrier / multi-standard cellular systems, High Direct-IF infrastructures and test equipments consisting of a Texas Instrument C64 DSP coupled with three Xilinx FPGAs (Virtex4 and VirtexII-pro) connected to one dual channel 1Gsps ADC and one dual channel 1Gsps DAC.

It is possible to build a wide range of applications for the SMT8121 using 3L Diamond and this application shows one such application.  The system consists of tasks running on the DSP and FPGAs.  All the tasks used to construct this system have been carefully chosen to allow re-use in your own application.
